My name is Bareerah, and I am a proud Pakistani-Muslim woman. My life is defined by my love for my culture and my religion. I immigrated to the U.S. when I was a baby. My family and I were far from our homeland, but my parents made sure I didn't forget my native language and the customs of my people. I embraced my identity to the point where other people were baffled. They didn't like that I was different. Growing up, I faced discrimination from friends and peers alike. It was tough, but it strengthened my love for my identity. It shaped me into the woman I am today. Though I am confident in who I am, I have flaws and insecurities. Writing is what I do best, so I hope it can help me work out whatever I'm going through. I started this blog because navigating life is no easy feat, and I have no idea what I am doing. I do know that other people can relate. I hope to help out those who are just as stuck as I am. Come, let's navigate life together. |
